Chptr Names Bob Arrington to Lead Development of New Funeral Home Marketing Product

The Chptr Team
Former NFDA president and current president and founder of ObituaryShare, brings more than five decades of funeral service leadership and experience to a new managed marketing offering for funeral homes
NEW YORK, NY — Chptr today announced that funeral service leader Robert “Bob” Arrington has joined the company as Senior Vice President of Funeral Home Services, where he will lead the development and launch of a new marketing product for funeral homes.
Marketing has become more fragmented, more expensive and harder to measure, while most funeral homes are managing it alongside the day-to-day demands of serving families and running the business. Chptr is developing a turn-key, managed model designed to simplify that work by bringing strategy, creative, production, media distribution and performance insight together in one simple offering.
Arrington brings more than five decades of experience as a funeral director, owner and industry leader. He is the founder of Arrington Funeral Directors & Crematory in Jackson, Tennessee, served as president of the National Funeral Directors Association from 2015 to 2016, and has held leadership roles across the profession, including president of the Tennessee Funeral Directors Association and chair of the Funeral Service Foundation. He also co-founded ObituaryShare with longtime newspaper executive Roy Heatherly and Beth Heatherly, bringing together experience in funeral service, publishing, advertising, distribution and performance measurement. He continues to lead ObituaryShare, which is partnering with Chptr on the new offering. While in his role with Chptr, Bob will continue to lead ObituaryShare.
“Funeral directors should be able to focus their time and resources on serving families and leading their communities,” said Arrington. “The companies that support this profession have a responsibility to make marketing simpler, more effective and more accountable, not to burden funeral homes with more platforms to manage, more work for their staff or costs that are difficult to justify. We have an opportunity to build a marketing product that reflects the needs and realities of funeral homes.”
At Chptr, Arrington will help shape a managed offering designed to keep funeral homes consistently visible in their communities without requiring their teams to become marketers themselves. Chptr will handle the strategy, creative, production and distribution, while reporting and optimization give funeral homes a clearer view of how their marketing is performing and where to invest.
ObituaryShare will support the upcoming offering with reporting, analytics and audience intelligence, helping funeral homes better understand who they are reaching and how their marketing is performing.
“Bob understands funeral service from the inside out,” said Rehan Choudhry, Founder and CEO of Chptr. “He knows what it takes to run a funeral home, what families expect and how communities behave. That perspective will be critical as we build a revolutionary marketing product that does more of the work for funeral homes while giving them better insight into what is working.”
