Paul Reubens was born on August 27th, 1952 in Peekskill, New York. He attended Sarasota High School in Florida, where he developed an interest in theater. After graduating high school, Reubens moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in entertainment. He quickly found success, appearing in various television shows and films, including Cheers, Pee-wee’s Big Adventure, and Batman Returns.
In 1981, Reubens created the character of Pee-wee Herman, a lovable man-child who wore a grey suit and red bowtie. The character quickly gained popularity, and Reubens began performing as Pee-wee in comedy clubs and on television. In 1985, he starred in the cult classic Pee-wee’s Big Adventure, which was followed by the popular children’s show Pee-wee’s Playhouse.
After the success of Pee-wee Herman, Reubens continued to appear in numerous films and television shows, including 30 Rock, Reno 911!, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. He also wrote and produced several movies, including Blow and Mystery Men.
