This obituary is written to remember Mark Sheehan, the legendary Irish guitarist and co-founder of the band The Script, who tragically passed away on April 14th 2021 at the age of 46.

Mark Sheehan was born in 1975 in Dublin, Ireland to parents Patrick and Miriam Sheehan. He had two brothers, David and Paul, with whom he grew up in Malahide. He was identified early on as a talented musician, studying the guitar and piano from a young age. He went on to form the band Mytown in 1996, where he worked alongside future bandmate Danny O'Donoghue.
In 2001, Mark became a founding member of The Script along with Danny and Glen. This Irish rock band rose to international success in 2008 with their hit single "The Man Who Can't Be Moved" off of their debut album The Script. In the next few years they released several more albums, including Science & Faith (2010) and No Sound Without Silence (2014). The band has since released four albums and has toured all over the world. During his time in The Script, Mark was known for his balance of both lead and rhythm guitar parts, as well as occasionally taking lead vocal lines.
Aside from music, Mark had a passion for film and directing, which he delved into while helping to create his own documentaries and music videos. He was also a devoted father to his son, Noah, who he often mentioned during live shows. He was a loving, charismatic figure in the music scene, always making time for fans. His legacy will live on as his music continues to inspire millions around the world.
Mark Sheehan will be remembered for his remarkable talent and cheerful spirit. He will be deeply missed by his family and fans alike.
