Lance Reddick was born on December 31st, 1962 in Baltimore, Maryland. He showed an interest in music at a young age and was a part of a rock band during the late 70s and early 80s. He then decided to pursue an education in theater, graduating magna cum laude from Juilliard School in 1984.
Reddick's career started in theatrical productions, starring in productions such as Macbeth, King Lear, The Tempest, and many more. He broke into television soon after, appearing in shows like Oz, Law & Order, New York Undercover, and Homicide: Life on the Street.
Reddick found success in the early 2000s with the premiere of HBO's The Wire. He played the character of Cedric Daniels, a lieutenant in the Baltimore Police Department. He resonated with fans due to his stoic yet reliable character.
In 2014, Reddick found success in the action-thriller genre with the release of John Wick where he portrayed Charon, a hotel concierge who serves as the main villain's assistant. He also appeared in John Wick: Chapter 2 and John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum.
