Coco Lee was born in Hong Kong in 1975. She began her career as a singer and songwriter at a young age, performing in local clubs and talent shows. In 1992, she released her first single, "Do You Want My Love," which became an instant hit in Asia. This success led to her signing with BMG Music in 1995, and she released her debut album, Just No Other Way, that same year.
Lee's international fame began in 1998 when she recorded the theme song for the movie Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. The song, "A Love Before Time," was an instant hit and earned her a Golden Globe nomination. She followed this success with the release of her second album, Passport, in 2000. The album spawned several hit singles, including "Before I Fall in Love" and "Dream Lover."
Lee continued to tour and record music throughout the 2000s, releasing her third album, Exposed, in 2003.
